What Does Wedding Sound and Lighting Cost in Italy?
“What does it cost to hire sound and lighting for a wedding?” is one of the first questions couples ask. The honest answer is that there is no single price: it depends on several factors, because every wedding is its own thing. This article looks at what genuinely moves the number, and how to picture the right build for your day.
What drives the price
Before you ask for a quote, it helps to know what pushes the cost up or down:
- Guest numbers: more guests means more audio power and wider lighting coverage.
- Indoors or outdoors: an outdoor build needs more speakers, subwoofers and sometimes a generator.
- Length of the day and the moments covered: ceremony, drinks reception and dinner are three different spaces, often far apart, each needing its own system.
- Lighting design: from architectural uplighting to scenic effects, the visual side can grow a long way.
- Special effects: cold-spark fountains (Sparkular type), low fog, lasers and projection each carry their own cost.
- Crew on site: a sound engineer or lighting technician present all day is what keeps everything working.
- Distance and site visits: logistics, transport and any preliminary visit feed into the total. For venues on the Amalfi Coast, access and load-in can matter more than the equipment itself.
What your build might look like
We don’t work in packages: the build is designed around your moments. These three scenarios exist only to help you picture how the project — and therefore the quote — changes as you add to it.
An intimate wedding, with the music in your hands
For a smaller reception where you’re running the playlist yourself, the essentials done well can be enough: a system for the ceremony and the drinks reception, microphones for the vows and the readings, and simple lighting that supports the day without taking it over.
A full day, from the ceremony to the dancefloor
The most common case: audio sized for each moment, dancefloor included, a DJ who reads the night, scenic lighting with moving heads and warm tones on the tables, and a technician present all day. Here the quote grows with the moments you’re covering, not from a price list.
A large villa, with the full effect
Bigger spaces and several areas ask for more: multi-zone audio, a lighting design built around the property, effects like Sparkular and low fog for the first dance, more crew, and a desk following all of it. This is the build people notice — and remember.
Why the quote has to be bespoke
As you can see, quoting a firm number without knowing the details wouldn’t be honest. Two weddings with identical guest counts can cost very differently depending on the venue, the effects chosen and how long the day runs. The only way to get a real figure is to tell us about your day.
